The Mylene Sheath is an independent record label, founded by Lindsay Palmer and Joel Proper. The label originated in 2007 in Covington, KY / Cincinnati, OH, before later relocating to Athens, Georgia. They have always released music on vinyl with a very strong focus on the quality of the physical product.

The first release The Mylene Sheath put out was in August of 2007, it was the debut record by If These Trees Could Talk. They went on to subsequently release albums from Caspian and Beware of Safety before the end of the year.

To date, the label has over sixty releases, including albums from Pelican, Jakob, Caspian, Heiress, Junius, Dust Moth, and Aeges.
